Mantri Developers has been well-known for its substantial contribution in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The company has focused on the simultaneous development of real estate as well as the society under the vision of its founder-owner, Sushil Mantri. Supporting and Encouraging Voluntary Action (S.E.V.A.) is his initiative with Mantri Developers to play a sustainable role in the nation’s progress.
One of the most prominent projects under S.E.V.A. is the Indus Community School set up by Mantri Developers in the outskirts of Bengaluru. It aims at providing quality education and opportunities to the underprivileged children of nearby areas.
Priyanka Mantri, the daughter of Sushil Mantri and head of Mantri S.E.V.A said, “Children who are enrolled in the Indus School are from families that have a monthly income of less than Rs 3,000. They are taught on smart boards, they learn horse riding, and they learn swimming. So, they do absolutely anything an international school kid would do.”
With projector-based teaching, fun activities and other interactive methods, the institute provide state-of-the-art facilities for enhanced education. Unlike many other schools, Indus provides various co-curricular activities like horse riding, cricket, football, music, and dance as a part of the curriculum without extra charges.
In addition to that, Mantri Developers joined hands with the Smile Foundation to establish ‘Smile Center’ which focuses on imparting knowledge to school dropouts. The center has 10 computers, each batch comprising of 20 students. It trains almost 120 students yearly in respective skill departments and helps them bag an opportunity. Radhakrishna Pradeep, Manager-Program, Smile foundation expressed, “Apart from this, Smile is giving them skills related to the job place employment.”
On the partnership, SushilMantri’s daughter added, “Education is very close to our hearts at Mantri because it means we are shaping the future, shaping the youth. Skill development and other activities help in making the country a better place and it’s mainly targeted to those who cannot afford a simple lifestyle for themselves.”
Apart from the educational sector, Mantri Developers distributed more than 400 solar bulbs to almost 500 families of Bidar district, Karnataka. Under the Give Light Movement, S.E.V.A. aims to provide electricity-deprived villages with renewable energy resources. This helped families replace the traditional kerosene lamps with solar lamps.
With the objective of improving literacy rates and preserving the environment for upcoming generations, SushilMantriis consistently implementing steps to achieve the goal of its individual CSR coupled with a comparatively bright future.
