the new Facility of Samsung located in Noida will be manufacturing 1 crore phones in a month and this new project will be creating the prospect of 1,000 new jobs in the country.

Samsung Invested Rs 5000 Crore

PM Narendra Modi and South Korean President Moon Jae-in Inaugurated the largest phone facility of Samsung. The Phone manufacturing unit is located at sector 81 Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

The facility is spreader over 35 acres and it is one of the kind in the whole country. The new unit is expected to double up the manufacturing capacity of the Samsung Phones.

On the occasion of this Inaugurations PM Modi said “Today is an important day in making India a manufacturing hub. The investment of Rs 5,000 crore by Samsung will strengthen India-South Korea relations.”

Make in India initiative

Samsung is among the leaders in Smartphone manufacturing market. Samsung phone is the part of every middle-class household in India and has been giving hope to common people added the Prime Minister.

Appreciating his government’s initiatives he stated “Make in India initiative is getting support from all across the world. India has become number 2 in mobile phone manufacturing.” Among the manufactured phone unit, over 30 percent of it will be exported.

“In the last four years, the number of mobile phone manufacturing facilities has gone up from 2 to 120 and 50 such factories are in Noida. More than four lakh jobs have been created as a result,” PM Modi added.

Doubles the Manufacturing Capacity

At the present statistics shows that the Samsung manufactures over 60 million Smartphone in Indian annually. This new facility is expected to double the manufacturing capacity which is expected to increase to 120 million mobile phones a year.

Indian currently has 40 crore Smart Phone users and 32 crore broadband users.

In June 2017 the company made an announcement saying that they are planning to invest Rs 4,915 crore to increase the manufacturing capacity at Noida plant for Phones and refrigerators.

The official announcement stated, “The expansion of the plant on an additional 35 acres of land adjacent to the current facility will double the production capacity of both mobile phones and refrigerators.”

Noida – Major Manufacturing Hub- 5,000 New jobs

Last year the company also added that Noida will be considered as a major manufacturing hub and would create about 5,000 new jobs prospects “The investment reaffirms Samsungs commitment to Make- in-India and Make-for-India and to the state of Uttar Pradesh,”

Samsung currently has 2 manufacturing unit and 5 R&D centers in India. The Noida Centre is designed with a workforce of over 70, 000 people.

Speaking on the new investment, a Samsung official stated “The capacity for refrigerators would double to 3 million units per annum against 1.5 million at present, and for TV panels to 2.6 million units from 1.3 million,”
