Reliance eagerly wants to expand Jio GigaFiber Services at high velocity and is offering their services to as many users as possible.
Registrations will start from August 15th, anticipation and excitement are clearly all around.
However, the rain is the only interrupter here and soon Jio will be ready and unstoppable.
As per the latest reports, JioPhone users are consuming data at a huge scale. An average user is consuming 7 GB data per month, and for a feature cellphone, this is a stunning record.
Rain: The only Interjector of Jio GigaFiber
Currently, the entire Jio Gigafiber’s team is focusing on repositioning the required optical fibers for connecting the end-user with their network hubs.
But, this last mile connectivity is facing an obstacle in the form of Rain, Presently, Monsoon has covered entire India.
Due to this, Jio has halted their activities in the various region where heavy rainfall is received, also digging grounds in these areas is against the government’s rules.
A person close to the developments said, “The process of laying fiber outside has been stopped due to unfavorable weather as the government does not give permission to dig during rains.”
How is Jio Handling This Issue?
It seems like Jio will now take help from the cable operators, as cables are already existing in most of the country, and Jio is seeking their assistance to provide the last mile connectivity.
Besides, Jio has allotted one liaisoning officer in every state, in order to tackle all the issues related to the municipality and also to update and remove all the interruption.
The performance of last-mile is currently costing $100-150 per subscriber. Jio had promised to enroll 50 million users across 1150 cities in the first phase.
It would be a massive task to accomplish it, we will be glad if Jio will overcome their task.

JioPhone Users Splurging On Data
As per the latest reports, JioPhone users are consuming data at a huge scale.
There are more than 25 million JioPhone users in India right now, and this data will surely expand after August 15th, at the time of 2nd Monsoon Hungama Plans Kickoff.
As per now, an average JioPhone user is consuming 7 GB data per month, and for a feature cellphone, this is a stunning record.
Comparing to the overall telecom industry, an average smartphone user is consuming 2 GB data per month, on the other hand, a Jio user is consuming 10 GB data per month.
The report stated that 90% of JioPhone users have now turned over to Rs 153 plan, which gives 1.5 GB of data per day.
Also, there are over 500 million feature phone users in India, and Jio wants 100 million of them on their platform.
