The new note will be smaller than the previous version, it might be in violet in color and bear the impression of Gujarat’s historic stepwell Rani ki Vav as reported by Dainik Bhaskar.
The new Rs 100 note is expected to be slightly bigger in size than the Rs 10 note, and weigh less than the old Rs 100 note.
The circulation of old Rs 100 note will not affect any service or operation of the economy.
The Reserve bank of India (RBI) could issue the new note in the coming August or September.
Moreover, the printing of the new Rs 100 note has already begun in Dewas at the printing press with indigenous ink reportedly being used to print the notes.
