The Gujarat Government has been consistently hunting to advance innovations that can positively solve India’s pressing problems and for that, it is all set to inaugurate the 9th edition of mega Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) in January 2019.
Prior to that, the state plans to organize the Vibrant Gujarat Startup and Technology Summit (VGSTS) 2018 in the month of October this year. The whole idea is to ignite the light of innovation and to allure people about entrepreneurship and aims to leverage technology as a catalyst to uplift entrepreneurship in the state.

The insight of Gujarat Government for delivering advanced innovation and tech creativity is to resolve India’s problems. The Vibrant Gujarat Startup and Technology Summit primarily focused to find out the answer of one question: How do we generate practical and logical IT-enabled innovative ecosystems worldwide?
This futuristic event which is unveiling its next edition is scheduled for three days in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The whole objective is to offer a platform to thousands of trailblazers from across the globe who possess the passion for creating sustainable development solutions through the global innovation. The event will be showcasing 40 cutting-edge speeches by global pioneers.
The event will reawaken the Startup and technology revolution in India that will strengthen the Indian Startup infrastructure. The idea will motivate startups using advanced technology to solve the problems across sectors which include – agriculture, healthcare, mobility, women’s safety and more.
Evidently, the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani will inaugurate the VGSTS in the presence of other luminous personalities from the government, business leaders, economists, academicians, policymakers, and industry stalwarts. The summit would encourage business-to-business and business-to-government meets.
Vibrant Gujarat Startup and Technology Summit is predicting the participation of 400-500 national and international delegates, and 2,500 participants, 600 exhibitors, and a footfall of 40,000 from across the world. The startups participating in the summit will have the opportunity to pitch in front of investors, corporates, etc.
The interestingly curated programme will screen multiple interesting events the highlights being, The Vibrant Gujarat Grand Challenge, TIS Talk short for, technology Innovation Startup Solutions and a Tech exhibition.
Vibrant Gujarat Grand Challenge
Vibrant Gujarat Startup and Technology Summit will also be entertaining a Grand Challenge with total prize money of INR 3 Crore. The challenge will seek creative solutions that address India’s pressing problems covering eight themes – Agritech, Fintech, Smart and Shared Mobility, Women-Centric Solutions, Manufacturing 4.0, Governance 2030, Maritime and Military Intelligence, and Healthtech.
The Gujarat Government wants to take advantage to resolve serious threats that India is facing right now such as- pollution, water scarcity, lack of adequate healthcare etc. It will enlighten people and shape a better India for the future.
The last date of application for the Vibrant Gujarat Grand Challenge is September 10, 2018.
The evaluation will be on the basis of the following factors: thoroughness, innovation, practicality, technical feasibility, business feasibility, scalability, and team competency.
What will you Experience at the Tech Exhibition
Besides the Grand Challenge, a Tech Exhibition will be showcasing the “best in the next” – digital solutions, ideas, innovations, new products, and visions — and unite companies and countries, investors and innovators, projects and decision-makers.

Gujarat: Powering Innovation For A Digital India
As per the reportage by Invest India – Startup India, more than 20K startups have generated a total market value of $50 Bn in the country and made India the second-largest startup ecosystem in the world.
As part of the initiative, a State Innovation Fund with a corpus of $29.3 Mn (INR 200 Cr) will be provided to students in the next five years. The state government will allocate $14.6 Mn (INR 100 Cr) of this fund and the remaining will be created by internal sources.
Lately, the Gujarat government promised to provide 175 startups with financial assistance worth $3.2 Mn (INR 22 Cr) over a period of two years with a mission to accomplish 2,000 startups by 2021.
The state governments of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Kerala, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh (UP), and Punjab have also launched dedicated startup policies to push entrepreneurship in their respective states.
The central, as well as the state governments, are working dedicatedly in tandem under the Digital India initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to encourage innovation and support the startup ecosystem and it is quite validating that Vibrant Gujarat Summit is a commendable effort driving in the same direction.
