Under-construction flyover collapse in Uttar Parades, eye-witnessed by many said the iron beams supporting the flyover appears to have sunk into the ground.
An under-construction portion of a flyover on the highway of Uttar Pradesh’s
Basti district collapsed early morning today. Laborers working at the site got injured and hence are being treated at a local hospital.
Eye-witnessed by many said the iron beams supporting the flyover appears to have sunk into the ground, leading to disintegration. It has been raining in the specific area for the last two weeks.
The local administration has inspected the flyover last week itself, said the people who visit nearby.
District Magistrate Raj Shekhar said in a statement
“District administration has informed NHAI (National Highway Authority of India) and has asked them to look into the issue immediately and to take appropriate measures on priority.”
A few days ago, a section of a service road on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway caved in after heavy rain, swallowing a car with four people. However, there were no casualties.
In May, a portion of an under-construction flyover collapsed at Varanasi, killing several people.
Do you think this is because of “not so heavy rainfall”?
This is due to the utilization of “not so good quality material and engineer”?
