Employees working in an organization can easily check their Provident Fund Balance (PF) now.
This new initiative has benefitted the employees who are members of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) no longer have to wait for the employer to share the Provident Fund (PF) Statement at the end of the year to know the PF balance.
Technology has made it easier for people who can check their balance anytime you want. There are five ways through which you can check are as follows – Umang App, EPFO Portal, EPFO App, SMS, and Missed Call.
Five Ways to Check Provident Fund Balance:
Via Umang App
Through the Umang App launched by the government last year to provide access to several government services. One can easily view EPF Passbook via Umang App. You only need to complete the registration process in order to check the PF balance.
Via EPFO Portal
Users can easily check their PF balance through the official EPFO Portal. In order to view your PF Passbook, you need to have your account attached with your Universal Account Number (UAN) and you can also download or print your Passbook.
- Visit the website – epfindia.gov.in
- Click on “For Employees” under “Our Services” option.
- Select “Member Passbook” under “Services”.
By following the above steps, you will be able to check your Provident Fund Balance.
Send an SMS
You can only get to see your PF balance if your UAN is registered with EPFO. To check the details of the contribution, send an SMS to 7738299899.
Send – EPFOHO UAN ENG (ENG is the code of preferred language, you can also change it by changing the initials of any language you want).
The facility is available in English, Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Bengali.
By giving a missed call
People who are registered on the UAN portal can receive the details of their Provident Fund Balance by giving a missed call on 011-22901406.
Through the EPFO App
Users can easily download the m-sewa app of EPFO through the Google Play Store. When the app gets downloaded, select the “Member” and then click on “Balance/Passbook”. Enter your UAN and registered mobile number to proceed. All the PF details will be seen on your screen.
