Forbes Magazine described Kylie Jenner under “America’s Women Billionaire” on its cover and added the reference to the reality TV Star as “Self-made”.
“At 21, she’s set to be the youngest-ever self-made billionaire,” stated the magazine. “Welcome to the era of extreme fame leverage”, it added.
It also tweeted the news with hashtag “#SelfMadeWomen.”
Two years ago, Jenner started with a $29 cosmetic kit which includes a set of lipstick and lip liner. Cosmetic kit made a sale of around $630 million while $330 million in the year 2017. After a great success, she added other cosmetics such as eye shadow and concealer which made her the youngest billionaire of America.
Youngest of Kardashian’s clan, Jenner outperformed her older sister and owns a company worth $900 million, describes Forbes.
“What her half-sister Kim Kardashian West did for booty, Jenner has done for full lips,” Forbes writes, describing her famous pout.
This week Kylie’s mother declared that she would stop injecting dermal fillers for her lips. In one of the episode of Keeping Up with The Kardashians, she said that her natural lips had been ‘an insecurity’ and she would temporarily change with lip fillers.
After that, she launched unconventional beauty products to help customers make their lips fuller through an amazing lip liner product.
The “Self-Made” statement given by Forbes has created a lot of commotion and uneasiness among the people.
“Calling Kylie Jenner self-made without acknowledging anywhere the incredible head start she had is what allows people to turn around and look at poor people and ask them why they haven’t become billionaires yet,” one person tweeted. “Her story is not inspiring or motivating for anyone.”
Even Dictionary.com took a moment to tweet the definition of “self-made,” which “means having succeeded in life unaided.”
It may be that people have given justified statements about the Kylie’s ‘self-made’ tag or publications need to re-check their dictionaries.
