Thirty people were arrested by the Cyberabad police in New Delhi. The arrest was made as these people were accused of cheating 2,000 SBI credit card holders. The gang includes 22 tele-callers and they have made Rs 5 Crore out the scam which they ran on jayyshree.com
VC Sajjaran, Cyberabad Police Commissioner stated that they took an quick action on the complaint, he explains that an anonymous person use to call customers and told them that he worked in SBI credit card division, he then collected card details like name, mobile number, city names and CVV OPT and likewise.
After receiving all the information they carried out money transactions via an online portal.
The commissioner told reported that a man named Vijay Kumar was the mastermind behind the scam.
On June 26 Mrudula Koduri, assistant manager of SBI Cards and Payment Services received a complaint from a customer who lost Rs 85,000 from his account. She took an action and forwarded the complaint to the police.
A fake call center was being operated by accused who have been running the fake SBI credit card scam and use to transact money through the website, www.jayyshree.com. They have recruited 22 tele- caller, out of which most were women.
All the accused had been arrested on July 8 and was presented before the local court in Delhi, the court has ordered them to appear before Station House Officer of the Cyber Crimes Police Station on July 23.
