CTET 2018 Online Application Will Be Available Soon On ctet.nic.in – What Is the Eligibility Criteria?

The beginning of registration for the central teacher eligibility test CTET 2018 was scheduled to be started on June 22 but in the recent public notice published on the official website of CTET, ctet.nic.in the test has been postponed to an unknown date.

The changes have been made due to the administrative reason. The authorities will be announcing the new date soon.

The examination will take place in 92 cities across the country.  Meanwhile, you can check the eligibility criteria and the syllabus for the exam.  The CTET is conducted to fill the vacant teacher’s post in government schools all over the country.  The examination is conducted by both state and the central government of India.

The CTET Examination 2018 will be conducted in 2 parts

  • Paper 1 is attempted by candidates who are eligible to teach classes 1 to 5
  • Paper 2 is attempted by candidates who are eligible to teach classes 6 to 8

Candidates who want to apply for the exam can download the form the official website of CTET. In order to clear the examination, a candidate is required to score more than 60 percent. Candidates of SC/ST/OBC/differently abled category are given the relaxation of 5 percent.

CTET qualifying certificate stays valid for 7 years to form the day the result is declared.

CTET 2018 Paper 1 syllabus

  • Child Development and Pedagogy: 30 objective question of 30 marks
  • Environmental Studies: 30 objective question of 30 marks
  • Language I (compulsory): 30 objective question of 30 marks
  • Language II (compulsory): 30 objective question of 30 marks
  • Mathematics: 30 objective question of 30 marks

CTET 2018  Paper 2 syllabus

  • Language I (compulsory): 30 objective question of 30 marks
  • Language II (compulsory): 30 objective question of 30 marks
  • Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory): 30 objective question of 30 marks
  • Social Studies/Social Science: 60 objective question of 60 marks
  • Mathematics and Science: 60 objective question of 60 marks

CTET 2018 Fees

  • General/OBC category – Rs 600 for one paper and Rs 1000 for both paper I and paper II.
  • SC/ST/Differently-abled category – Rs 300 for one paper and Rs 500 for both the papers.

Eligibility Criteria for candidates for Classes 1 to 5

Senior secondary qualification with minimum 50 percent marks, the candidate must pass or appear in the final year of 3-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

Or

Passed class 12 with minimum 45 percent marks and should appear and pass in the final exam of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with the NCTE

Or

Qualified class 12 with minimum 50 percent marks and should appear and pass in the final examination of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

Or

Qualified class 12 with minimum 50 percent marks and should appear and pass 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

Or

Graduate with 50 percent marks or cleared 2-year diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Eligibility Criteria for candidates for Classes 6 to 8

Graduate with 50 percent marks or cleared 2-year diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Or

Graduate with 50 percent marks or appearing in 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)

Or

Graduate with 45 percent marks or appearing in 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) in accordance with the NCTE

Or

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) qualified with minimum 50 percent marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)

Or

Qualified class 12 with minimum 50 percent marks and should appear and pass in the final examination of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed

Or

Graduate with 50 percent marks or appearing in 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)

Or

Any candidate having qualified B.Ed programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET/CTET.

CTET 2018 Paper Pattern

Questions in the paper will be objective Questions format. There will be four options out of which one option will be the correct answer.

Each correct answer will score you one mark and there is no negative marking in the examination.

Those who qualify CTET can appear again for improving the score.
