New Green Corridor Introduced in Indore for the kidney transportation

A new Green Corridor was introduced in the Indore City on Saturday to transport the kidney of 39 years old man. The city created a record to become the only city in central India to introduce the 32nd green corridor within the last 32 months. The corridor was created at 09:05 pm between the Choithram Hospital and the CHL Hospital.

The secretary of Indore Organ Donation Society Dr. Sanjay Dixit said that a kidney of 39 years old Rajendra Bhagwat was transported to a patient in Choithram Hospital and the transplantation of the kidney was successful and another kidney of Rajendra Bhagwat was transplanted to another patient in the CHL Hospital. The process of transplant was continued till the late night.

Rajendra was a School teacher by profession and lived in Sendhwa. He met with an accident on 14 July near Pithampura Chowpaty while driving his two-wheeler.

“Bhagwat was declared brain dead on Friday late night. His family members had given consent on Saturday noon after which organ donation was planned as per the list of patients in waiting,” asserts Dr Dixit. The doctors also tried to donate his but their was no recipient available for it. He added “We got a patient in Bhopal for a heart transplant but he was not fit and another recipient was in Chennai. It’s not possible to wait for the team to come to the Indore.” Bhagwat lived with his wife Manisha, and two children Piyush 12 years old and Daksh 10 years old.

MDM Medical College receives Rs. 32 lakh for the SOTTO

“State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (SOTTO) will establish their Centre in the MGM Medical College. The State Govt. has released a fund of Rs. 32 lakh for the Centre,”

added Dr. Dixit, the work in the Centre will start soon.
