Eid-ul-Fitr 2018 Updates: Eid-ul-Fitr is just around the corner, fasting Muslims are eagerly waiting for the announcement of Shawwal Moon; Indonesia, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi has already spotted Shawwal moon whereas India is waiting for June I6.
Eid-ul-Fitr, a holy and religious festival celebrated by Muslims worldwide. It is marked that Ramadan began on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, and has lasted for a month where Muslims from all over the world fasting during daylight.
It is a belief of lslams that the holy month pays homage to the first revelation of Quran to Mohammed and during Ramadan, Muslims abandon eating, drinking, smoking, and sexual activities from dawn to sunset.
During Ramadan, Muslims have only two meals throughout a day, one is pre-fast meal known as Suhoor while the other is Post-fast called Iftar. According to Islamic belief, Ramadan is one of the five pillars and in order to live a good and responsible life, Muslims must satisfy the five pillars.
The date and time of Eid are different in all the countries and this year, In India it is expected to start on the evening of June 15th and will end on the evening of June 16th.
Earlier, it was discussed that the first crescent of the new moon will be sighted on June 15th but it did not happen in India so, now people will celebrate the festival on June 16th in India.
A crescent Moon is expected tonight which means that Shawwal will begin today – Symbolizing the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr and the eve of celebrations and happiness.
