American motorcycle manufacturer Harley Davidson is planning to open its skill center in India which will be known as Harley-Davidson University. This skill center will be employee and dealership staff training. Apart from technical training, the cult bike manufacturer which already has three universities in Asia Pacific region will also provide training in areas like branding, finance, and management.
“We will continue to invest in people and resource here (India). An example of that is Harley Davidson University which we are going to open here in Delhi in next few weeks,” Peter MacKenzie, Harley Davidson India, and China MD, recently told PTI.
Confirming the fact that a wide range of courses would be offered at the university MacKenzie added, “The upcoming entity would offer both technical and non-technical training to its employees and dealership staff from across the country. Our university caters only to the Harley Davidson community”.
In India, Harley Davidson has its presence since 2009. Among its other 14 models, the most famous are Street 750 and Street Rod.
MacKenzie also shared that company is planning to expand its dealership presence in India to widen its reach and also aiming to increase more customer engagements with the brand by bringing great products for both current and future customers.
He also mentioned about various initiatives to achieve the goal of connecting with prospective customers in remote areas with ‘mobile truck’ (a mobile store). It helps in engaging people with the brand and gauges their interest.
