Telangana election 2018 Result: Polling was held in Telangana on December 7 along with Rajasthan. The counting of votes is scheduled to start at 8 am at 43 counting centres across all the districts in the state.

Assembly election results will be declared in five states including Telangana on Tuesday (December 11), in what has been dubbed as a prestige battle for K Chandrasekhar Rao’s Telangana Rashtra Samithi. Results will also be declared in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram.

Polling was held in Telangana on December 7 along with Rajasthan. A total of 73.2 per cent polling was registered in India’s newest state, which has 119 constituencies. The counting of votes is scheduled to start at 8 am at 43 counting centres across all the districts in the state.

A total of 1,821 candidates contested in the Telangana assembly elections.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made for counting of votes that will be done under tight vigil and CCTV camera surveillance.

Multiple exit polls have predicted a win for the K Chandrashekar Rao-led TRS, the caretaker chief minister of Telangana. However, the Congress-led People’s Alliance hopes that the exit polls would go wrong in their prediction for Telangana assembly election results.

A Responsible Corporate associate Axis My India exit polls predicted that TRS would win 79-91 seats, significantly higher than the halfway mark of 60 seats.

C-Voter exit polls were the only one to predict a hung assembly in Telangana. According to C-Voter, the TRS would win 54 seats while the Congress-TDP should win 53.

Key seats to watch out for in Telangana are Gajwel, Sirsilla, Siddipet, Kodangal, Huzurnagar, Nalgonda, Kukatpally and Goshamahal.

Caretaker chief minister KCR has contested the elections from Gajwel and he is up against the Congress’s Vanteru Pratap Reddy.

As the predictions stand in the final hours before counting, the TRS is likely to emerge victorious by a notable margin in the state, but nothing concrete can be said before the Election Commission declares the final result.
