Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput are feeling proud to become parents for the second time by giving birth to their second child. The celebrity couple welcomed baby boy on Wednesday.
Mira was admitted to Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday evening. Along with her mother who was also spotted at the hospital by a photographer.
Shahid and Mira are already parents to an elder daughter, two year old Misha. The tied the knot in 2015. Shahid loves a lot her wife and often express it. “I got lucky. I married Mira,” Shahid said. “She’s as normal as it gets. We kind of hit it off and decided to get into an arranged marriage. By God’s grace it’s been wonderful, the last three years, and she’s been a huge part of that for me.”
Mira was studying in Delhi University when she first met Shahid. They married after a brief courtship. But despite the fame, Shahid said he always wanted normalcy in his life. “I’m very simple as a person,” he said. “And although I might live a very lavish lifestyle, I’m very happy I share my life with someone who has a similar mind-set.”
The actor, is currently busy promoting his upcoming film, Batti Gul Meter Chalu and has begun preparations for the Hindi remake of Telugu hit, Arjun Reddy, saying he can barely manage a week’s off for his second child. He will also be seen in an upcoming biopic on Asian gold medalist boxer Dingko Singh.
Speaking to Mid-Day, Shahid said that in the case of Misha, he was off work for several months, but in case of his second child, despite his best efforts, he just couldn’t do much. “During Misha’s birth [in 2016], I took a couple of months off. This time too, I was negotiating to take a month-long break, but things didn’t work out. I will get only a week off from work. It is too short a duration, but such are the circumstances.”
