Reliance Jio, Telecom giant is now planning to enter the content creation market with an intention to surpass Netflix and Amazon. It is hovered to open its own production house in order to create original short films and web series for the viewers.

Both Netflix and Amazon Prime Video are performing well in streaming and content cresting sites, but now Jio is no far.

It has been calculated that presently Reliance is having 215 million Jio Subscribers that will help them to expand.

Why Reliance took this step?

The transition from Oil-to-Telecom has evidently disrupted the telecom industry with its competitive marketing. The affordable data plans resulted in more video consumption but the realization has enlightened them to properly tap the content market.

As a matter of fact, Jio Cinema offers video content having partnerships with ALT Balaji and Eros, now for the more original content, they are determined to expand and produce the most authentic and extravagant content.

How sharply Amazon Strategize?

Amazon is having a huge war-chest and consistently expanding into national and regional markets across the globe, especially in India.

It has created original content like “The Ministry” with AIB and OML.

Alongside, it also offers premium content for the subscribers to watch Bollywood and regional movies within weeks of theatrical releases.

Recently, Amazon signed 14 comedians managed by OML and released a new show called “Comicstaan” which has become hot discussion among the masses.

What makes Netflix the best entertainment friend?

Netflix provides staggering content; ranging from International to Indian library, where Indian content streaming is the 6th largest in the world.

It also offers premium service collaborated with Red Chillies Entertainment, Phantom Films and granted Rs. 600 crore to develop original content.

What is there in Reliance’s venture?

It is indeed a task to gain immediate attention against the well-established mammoth such as- Netflix and Amazon Prime because their content is tightly-knitted and their original content creation is a boon for artists.

Amazon Prime Video has the biggest subscriber based in India i.e. 1 Crore and the subscription costs Rs. 999 annually, while Netflix is tagged as Premium streaming service costs Rs. 500-800 per month.

However, it is difficult to predict whether Reliance would emerge as a breakthrough, but it would definitely bring excitement to Indian viewers.
