India becomes the biggest marketplace for Samsung and Xiaomi in the last quarter.
The previous year, India outshine the United States of America and become the world’s No. 2 smartphone marketplace. All the manufacturers are falling over themselves in order to plat a flag, India has rapidly become ground zero for the smartphone wars.
As per the recent reports, Samsung and Xiaomi have been the biggest champ in the recent quarters, clashing for the top spot. Previously this year, the final edge out the anterior, but the fight has remained neck to neck for the vast and expanding market.
As per the new data from Canalys, both the companies have shipped 9.9 million smartphones for Q2 2018.
Xiaomi took the top spot- anyhow, while Samsung is expanding 47 percent year over year. That’s the Korean manufacturer’s enormous growth shoot in the country since late -2015.

“As we combine, the two manufacturers comprise 60 percent of shipments in India for the quarter. Oppo and Vivo round out the top four, creating Samsung to be the only non-Chinese company competing for the top spot.” Stated the company in the report
Recently the company has announced that they will be doubling down their endeavor in the country with a factory it’s deemed the world’s largest.
ASUS has seemed some major growth over the previous quarter in the country by tripling their growth. Meanwhile, Apple’s shipment has sunk around 50 percent year over year, as per the firm, as the company adjusts their strategy in the country.
“Apple’s paring back of distributor partners and move to a ‘brand-first, volume-next’ strategy will reap rewards as it will ensure better margin per device,” Says Rushabh Doshi of Canalys, “Getting priorities right will be important to smartphone vendors, and it will be a choice between profitability and volume growth,” he added
