RB (formerly known as Reckitt Benckiser), world’s leading consumer Health and Hygiene Company with a vision of the world, has launched an initiative at the Ganga Ghat in Patna on Chatt Puja in association with Jagran Pehal and Government of Bihar. This initiative has been launched as part of its national wide hygiene and sanitation campaign to drive behavioral change amongst devotees.
The initiative was launched on 25th October by Senior Cabinet Minister Shri Nand Kishore Yadav and attended by many eminent leaders such as Shri Pashupati Kumar Paras, Member of Lok Janshakti Party and Mr. Rana Randhir, Corporation Minister along with other representatives from RB.
Facilities such as fixed Dettol hand wash booths, placement of Banega Swachh India mobile toilets, construction of changing rooms, emergency medical support and information desk were installed to ensure a safe environment for devotees at Ganga Ghat.
“Dettol Banega Swacch India” is a 5-year-old ambitious program to address the rising hygiene and sanitation need of India which aims to bring a behavioral change towards hygiene through numerous initiatives such as the School Hand Wash Program and Young Mother’s Program. It also aims to improve sanitation facilities by working with NGO partners to identify areas across the country to support the development and maintenance of cleaner toilets.
On the launch of this initiative, RB announced their efforts towards making 100 villages in Bihar open-defecation free with help of sanitation change leaders.

This campaign “Dettol Banega Swachh India” has been recognized for its unique approach towards ” Changing Behaviour: Creating Sanitation Change leaders” and implementing policies at the grassroots level.
